i ran across a quote yesterday by jimmy fallon, and i haven't been able to stop thinking about it since.
"We've tried a bunch of things... Anyone who's tried will know, it's just awful... I know people have tried much longer (than we have), but it there's anyone out there who is trying and they're just losing hope... just hang in there... Try every avenue; try anything you can do, 'cause you'll get there. You'll end up with a family, and it's so worth it. It is the most 'worth it' thing."
i have always liked jimmy, he was always one of my favorites on SNL and his run on late night was fantastic and hilarious. and one week in to the tonight show, and i know i'll love him there too. vince and i always talk about how we wish we could be friends with him in real life. wouldn't that just be the most fun?!
last year, jimmy welcomed a baby girl who he and his wife named winnie rose fallon. i didn't know until this weekend that they had her via surrogate and that they'd struggled with infertility for 5 years. i don't know why, but hearing stories like theirs... knowing others (even celebrities! gasp!) go through similiar trials and challenges, is really comforting to me knowing we're not alone.
to hear more, you can watch his interview where he said this here.

Aw. I think a lot of people struggle with infertility, whether it's for a year or 10... If the desire for a family is there and you're ready, any amount of time to wait is rough. It's hard to share your struggles because it opens up a lot of your personal life to others, and not just yours but your spouses. I think for me if I don't talk about it, it's not my reality. I don't consider Jord and I struggling with infertility after 2 years of trying. I'm not sure if it's denial or hope- but hearing others stories are definitely a strength to me. Thank you for being brave and sharing yours. Xx.
What a cute quote! Your blog looks so nice - how have you done the background and how do you get those hearts in front of the headlines? :) Looking good!
