moab, part 2 // phone camera edition

i'm so awesome. when i wrote my original post about our trip to moab -- i was freaking out because i couldn't find about half the pictures from the trip! i thought maybe i'd lost a memory card or something. after i published it, i realized about an hour later that i had taken all these pictures on my phone! and that is where the "missing" photos were! ha, i'm smart.

so, here is another look at our trip... through the lense on my phone.

drive down to moab

vince and i had a delicious meal at one of our favorite restaurants in moab before everyone else arrived

it is hard to tell in this picture, but this made us laugh! it was senior parking with a bunch of motorcycles parked!

balanced rock. vince wanted to see if he could knock it off ;)

while we were in moab, one of the days was national donut day so naturally we had to get some donuts!

before the race!

during the race

we went on a hike up to milcreek swimming hole that vince had heard about...
on our way up, we noticed a guy following close by us. but he was moving so slow and barely moving his limbs -- it was so strange. we determined he was super high. we we were partially amused but also a little scared he was following us to kill us ;)
when we got to the swimming hole, there were a bunch of people there and some of them were even slack lining over the hole. our high "friend" decided he wanted to climb up the rocks to jump down in to the swimming hole. let's just say he wasn't working at full capacity. he totally slipped off the rock on his first attempt, and when he started up the rocks again i started to seriously fear for his life! it was probably a 20 foot drop and the deep part where you had to jump to was pretty small. i really thought we'd maybe see him tumble to his death. talk about giving me major anxiety!! he eventually did jump, and didn't hurt himself, luckily! he left when we did too and on our way back -- we decided we needed a code name for him, to which camilla instantly suggested The Duck. we all laughed because where the heck did that come from, but it stuck. and we talked about the duck the whole rest of the trip!

here is picture of camilla + chad with The Duck in the background! haha!

I'm going to be honest here. I have purposefully not read all of your blog posts the last few weeks because I didn't want to feel homesick for Utah and homesick for y'all. But today I realized I'd rather read about all your adventures and jokes (The Duck!) and see your gorgeous pictures and be homesick for it all then not read and see all about everything. I love you and I'm glad The Duck didn't kill you guys or die himself. xoxo
