life lately

life has been crazy lately (but when is it not?) and i just haven't had the umph needed to blog. i strongly believe in not forcing the blog content. i will write when i want to write, and i will not write when i don't feel like writing. it used to stress me out if i went a long time in between posts. but i guess vince telling me over and over that it was ok has finally started to sink in. but, i do miss it. and i do feel sad that certain things aren't getting recorded. after all, this is my only form of journaling these days.

life has been a crazy mixture of chaos and calm, of being all over the place and having routine. of unknowns and contentment. the last few months have just been kind of odd, ya dig? but i'll do my best to catch up on the happenings of casa de la oveson (i don't speak spanish so that could be like, so wrong).

vince finished a crazy semester of school at the end of spring. it was one of his busiest semesters to date, and it looks like the next 3 will be just the same, if not crazier. but! then he graduates next may! hip hip and halelujiah! you  better believe i will be throwing him quite the graduation bash next summer! save the date, yo! as he finished this past semester, he also quit his job that he had been at for over 5 years so that he could start a really great internship! it has been such a huge blessing and he is totally loving it.

i'm still training for my half marathon that is THIS SATURDAY, PEEPS! it has been good to have something to train for and i am really excited about it all. lets do this thing! that will get its very own special post later though.

my grandpa lange passed away in may of congestive heart failure and pneumonia. he gets his own post, because i have a lot to say about it and i have lots of photos i want to share.

the pup keeps me busy, we get to hang out a lot in the afternoons and evenings and she is just as fun as ever. she is crazy sometimes but we love her and really just think she's the best. yes, we are those people. crazy dog owners! she's kind of a diva sometimes, and there are a few things she just will flat out ignore us over... but, hopefully we will be able to take her somewhere for some training classes and things will get better in that aspect. she does learn really quick (when she wants to), so fingers crossed!

over the weekend, i chopped off my hair! i have had super bad hair self-esteem lately and no matter what i did, it was just so blaaa. i've tried long hair, straight hair, curly hair, medium length, bobs... but nothing has really worked. my hair is thin and lifeless, and i was in need of a change big time. i follow a cute girl named becki and she has this adorable pixie cut. i couldn't stop looking at all her pictures on instagram (@whippycake) and her videos on youtube, when i thought: maybe this is the answer to my hair woes! so, i took the plunge and i LOVE it! so far so good! and it has been really fun to play around with and try different styles. its been a nice change.
